This traditional Japanese bonsai paste has a clay-like consistency that becomes soft and workable when kneaded between your fingers. It can be shaped precisely to cover pruning wounds of different sizes and stays in place as the tree begins the healing process.

Non-Conifer Formula — White Lid

This white-lid formula is intended for deciduous and other non-conifer bonsai and uses a lighter-colored paste that blends more naturally with pruning wounds on these trees.

The green-lid version is intended for conifers. The primary difference between the two versions is the color of the paste, allowing you to select the version that better blends with the type of tree being treated.

How to Use

Take a small amount of paste and knead it between your fingers until it becomes soft and pliable. Press the paste directly over the freshly made cut, extending slightly beyond the edges of the wound to provide complete coverage.

As the tree heals, the paste will gradually dry, loosen, and eventually fall away. When this occurs, inspect the developing wound and apply additional paste if continued protection is needed.
